Description
Tripods come in handy when shooting distant birds, like these female or immature Western Bluebirds, with a long lens. As they sat soaking up the late afternoon rays, they were unperturbed by the photographer about 30 meters away. I used my Olympus camera (the OM-1), 300 mm prime lens with 2.0 teleconverter), settings ISO 1250 1/1250s f/8, on a Fotopro tripod. Western Bluebirds are common here in Flagstaff Arizona, elevation 7000’ (2133 m).
