I love Gilbert Riparian Preserve! It hosts a variety of large charismatic birds like this Great Egret flying between the preserve's ponds. It makes me glad to see the bird’s face and eye in at least light shade and not any darker. That way I think we can better empathize with our fellow being living in hot arid central Arizona, where it is obvious that water is life!
I shot this photo with my Olympus OMD-EM-1 Mark II camera, 40-150mm lens, at ISO 3200 1/8000s f/5.6.
