I grew up in southern California and have long enjoyed my bird photography visits to Puddingstone Reservoir at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park. On February 9 I took this photo of a Spotted Sandpiper flying toward shore. I used my Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera (ISO 500 f/2.8 1/4000s). Why are the moving reflections of birds ("moving" in both senses) so compelling as photographic subjects? I only know I love them.
I am a nature and wildlife photographer specializing in landscapes such as panoramas, trees in context, and animals in action or interaction! You could call me a "-scape" photographer, doing land-, cloud-, tree, and even snag-scapes, and I love capturing birds on gorgeous trees in gorgeous cloud- and land-scapes. Whether at home in Flagstaff or traveling to other parts of Arizona, southern California, or occasionally further afield (Texas, Missouri, and South Dakota most recently, I am never without my camera. My aim is to capture for viewers my encounters with the natural world that are so important and fulfilling.
