Grackles are related to the blackbirds found in North and South America. On December 11, 2022, I encountered this female Great-Tailed Grackle standing on the banks of Frances Short Pond in Flagstaff, Arizona, the water being seen behind her. I took the shot with a 300mm prime lens plus 2.0x teleconverter mounted on an OM-1 Olympus mirrorless camera, ISO 4000 1/2500s f/10.
I am a nature and wildlife photographer specializing in landscapes such as panoramas, trees in context, and animals in action or interaction! You could call me a "-scape" photographer, doing land-, cloud-, tree, and even snag-scapes, and I love capturing birds on gorgeous trees in gorgeous cloud- and land-scapes. Whether at home in Flagstaff or traveling to other parts of Arizona, southern California, or occasionally further afield (Texas, Missouri, and South Dakota most recently, I am never without my camera.
