I was looking around and asking myself where the small birds had gone when I noticed this hawk overlooking the home where I was staying on November 14, 2022. The home was in Platte Woods, a small town within Kansas City Missouri. I was ready with my long lens (300mm prime) on an OM-1 mirrorless camera, set at ISO 4000 1/3200 f/6.3.
I am a nature and wildlife photographer specializing in landscapes such as panoramas, trees in context, and animals in action or interaction! You could call me a "-scape" photographer, doing land-, cloud-, tree, and even snag-scapes, and I love capturing birds on gorgeous trees in gorgeous cloud- and land-scapes. Whether at home in Flagstaff or traveling to other parts of Arizona, southern California, or occasionally further afield (Texas, Missouri, and South Dakota most recently, I am never without my camera. My aim is to capture for viewers my encounters with the natural world that are so important and fulfilling.
