Those who seek spectacular views of fall colors from the road traveling part way up the San Francisco Peaks thought no great photos were possible on October 6. The colors aren't in full display, they said. I thought otherwise. The subtle golds and yellows of aspen leaves defined the forest at that moment, and the mountain is equally subtle, but just look closely! In any case, the forest plays a dominant role in this visual drama.
Shooting with my OM-1 camera and 12-40mm lens, I set my ISO at 200, shutter speed 250, and f-stop at 11.
