I photographed this hummingbird (apparently a male broad-tailed) on 8/22/23, at our home in Flagstaff, Arizona. It was hovering by agastache, a very tubular flower and thus a fitting food source for hummers. I used a 150-400mm lens on an OM1 camera, ISO 4000 1/3200 f/5.6, at a focal distance of 420 mm.
I am a nature and wildlife photographer specializing in landscapes such as panoramas, trees in context, and animals in action or interaction! You could call me a "-scape" photographer, doing land-, cloud-, tree, and even snag-scapes, and I love capturing birds on gorgeous trees in gorgeous cloud- and land-scapes. Whether at home in Flagstaff or traveling to other parts of Arizona, southern California, or occasionally further afield (Texas, Missouri, and South Dakota most recently, I am never without my camera. My aim is to capture for viewers my encounters with the natural world that are so important and fulfilling.
