Today's first light appeared to set fire to this cyclamen flower. The opportunity to shoot a compelling macro shot was too much to pass up. With the help of a tripod I was able to stabilize my gear for a very close photo. I had my 12-40mm lens mounted on my Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II mirrorless camera, with these settings: ISO 500 1/80s f/13. Of the dozen or so shots I took, this one, which peers into the flower's heart, is the most eye-catching.
I am a nature and wildlife photographer specializing in landscapes such as panoramas, trees in context, and animals in action or interaction! You could call me a "-scape" photographer, doing land-, cloud-, tree, and even snag-scapes, and I love capturing birds on gorgeous trees in gorgeous cloud- and land-scapes. Whether at home in Flagstaff or traveling to other parts of Arizona, southern California, or occasionally further afield (Texas, Missouri, and South Dakota most recently, I am never without my camera.
