I took this photograph when Mrs. Black-Chinned Hummingbird hovered a couple of feet from my lens. She wouldn't quite fit in the frame! The occasion was the annual [Sedona Area] Hummingbird Festival, 7/30/22, and I used my Olympus OM-1 camera, 300mm lens.
I am a nature and wildlife photographer specializing in landscapes such as panoramas, trees in context, and animals in action or interaction! You could call me a "-scape" photographer, doing land-, cloud-, tree, and even snag-scapes, and I love capturing birds on gorgeous trees in gorgeous cloud- and land-scapes. Whether at home in Flagstaff or traveling to other parts of Arizona, southern California, or occasionally further afield (Texas, Missouri, and South Dakota most recently, I am never without my camera. My aim is to capture for viewers my encounters with the natural world that are so important and fulfilling. I shoot with Olympus gear, including an OM-1 and OM-D E-M1 II, and Olympus/OM lenses— a 40-150mm, a 300mm prime, a 30mm...
