Wigeons are a distinctive duck whose beautiful markings are most visible during flight. I photographed this individual on January 2 (2024) at Walnut Canyon Lakes (Old Walnut Canyon Road Ponds) on Flagstaff’s east side. Northern Arizona’s waterfowl diversity is certainly helped by lakes, mostly artificial like this one. I took the shot with an OM-1 camera, handheld, and telephoto lens (zoomed in to 293mm), ISO 8000 1/5000s f/10.
I am a nature and wildlife photographer specializing in landscapes such as panoramas, trees in context, and animals in action or interaction! You could call me a "-scape" photographer, doing land-, cloud-, tree, and even snag-scapes, and I love capturing birds on gorgeous trees in gorgeous cloud- and land-scapes.
